Eyeliner After Care
REMEMBER: This is a procedure and will take several weeks to process complete healing. Do not expect immediate results – and please be patient. It will be a few weeks before you can fully appreciate the results, and will look great!
If MEDICATIONS are needed must begin as follows:
To prevent cold sores and/or herpes break out. Most clients get a prescription for antiviral medication ZOVIRAX or VALTREX of 1000 mg daily starting (1 day before /4 days after) can take up to 7 days if you have bad history with breakouts.
If you have mitral-valve and you need to take Antibiotics prior to dental treatments, then you will need same meds as prescribed by your Physician. Must start 2hours before this Eyeliner procedure.
Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days Post Eyeliner procedure. However, experience has shown that by following these after-care instructions, these symptoms may quickly disappear.
Eyeliner Post Care: is very important to the appearance and longevity of your new Eyeliner. Do not let any water, lotion, soap, or makeup touch your Eye area during the first 7 days after your procedure. AVOID Eye Makeup of any products for 8 days of healing time. Immediately after the procedure and during the first 24 hours ICE packs are a MUST as often as possible. You may prefer to use a bag of frozen peas. You want to reduce swelling as quick as possible for best results. For discomfort take Tylenol or Ibuprofen and also may want to sleep a little elevated first 24 hour.
After 5-7 days, make sure your hands are completely clean. AM Clean with small drop baby shampoo on damp cloth, rinse off with Damp cloth or Q-Tips by patting, don’t rub and apply Antibiotic ointment when needed, may layer with Aquaphor or Vaseline. PM apply with Aquaphor or Vaseline
Post-care sterile dressings (Liquid bandage cream) when necessary.
When cleansing your face avoid treated Eye area with any additional products. During the shower, keep your face away from the showerhead or take a bath. Never rub the treated area as it will disturb the skin from natural healing. Please continue post care 7 days.
What to Expect During and After Your Eyeliner Session
Immediately after the procedure the area treated will look much darker and much more defined (as if it were “painted on”) than the final results. The swelling diminishes (24-48 hours) and your lips will become more evenly shaped. Be prepared for the color to be lighter and the overall appearance much softer and more natural after the healing occurs. It will take time for this transition, based on how quickly the outer layer of your skin exfoliates. Usually the exfoliation (peeling) process occurs about 4 to 5 days and will be complete at about day 7 Days.
The following you must AVOID during next 14 days post-Eyeliner procedure:
- Increased sweating
- Practicing sports
- No swimming in fresh, salt, chlorine or lake water!
- Hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi
- Sun tanning or salon tanning
- UV/UVA Rays or chemicals as they have been known to cause a shift in color, premature fading and/or Blood poisoning from sun exposure.
- Picking, peeling, or scratching of the micro pigmented area to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment
- Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne debris
- Driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles, or motorcycles
